We are so proud of our students, never more so than when major milestones are reached. In the last two months, two Women's Center students accomplished long term goals.
J.B. who was an English student at the Women's Center for about 1.5 years passed her boards to become a Registered Nurse in February, 2010. J.B. is from Haiti and needed to improve not just her English skills, but her medical knowledge as well. The English tutor to J.B. was in the medical field and tutored her in English and spent extra time helping her with the content for the medical boards as well. Congratulations to J.B. and her Tutor.
L.A. was a GED prep student at the Women's Center for about a year. She was extremely motivated. She enrolled in a reading small group class and our pilot math program. This month she surprised the Women's Center staff by proudly presenting her new GED!
